3. Advanced functions

CAUTION!!!
Modification of some settings in this menu may affect the correct operation of the receiver. Therefore it is
important that you carefully read this section of the manual before changing any settings. Some functions are
protected by a password to prevent accidental changes (see section 3.3.5).
During normal viewing press MENU on the remote control to open the Main Menu box, which will list the
following four sub-menus:
Channel
1.
Installation
2.
System Setup
3.
Tools

SOME SIMPLE NAVIGATION RULES
Use the following buttons to navigate through the various menu items
press ◄►▼▲ to select a menu/option and the number buttons to set the functions shown at the bottom
of each window
press OK to confirm a selection or to open any menu drop-lists showing a symbol with three downward
arrows
press MENU or EXIT at any time to return to the previous screen.
Always follow the indications given at the bottom of the menu screen.

3.1 Channel Menu

The Channel menu can be used to view or modify the TV channel list or Radio channel list. See the
functions at the bottom of the menu window.
One particularly important option is 5 Edit, protected by password (see section 3.3.5), where channels can
be deleted, renamed, skipped and locked.

3.2 Installation Menu

The Installation menu is dedicated to the first installation of the receiver. It has the following sub-menus:
Antenna Setup
1.
Auto Scan
2.
TP Scan (Transponder Scan)
3.
Preset Scan
4.

3.2.1 Antenna Menu

The Antenna Setup menu contains the functions required to configure the receiver according to your
antenna plant.
CAUTION!!!
The Antenna Setup menu settings are specific to your antenna plant. Any wrong settings may make it is
impossible to view certain TV programmes. Before changing any settings it is important that you know the
characteristics of your plant or consult the installer for a correct receiver configuration.
The following parameters will be listed:
Satellite: select the satellite name. Press OK to open a drop-list of satellites.

LNB type: set the type of LNB (normally Universal)

22K: only use if LNB Type is NOT set to Universal (i.e. automatic)

DiSEqC: select the DiSEqC tone for the LNB associated to the satellite (Off when using a motor)

Positioner: only use if the DiSEqC option is set to Off and to command a motorised antenna by the

DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS protocol
Polarity: select the polarity. H/V option is recommended (i.e. horizontal/vertical)

3.2.1.1 Basic Mode
Single LNB antenna plants do not use DiSEqC or other specific communication protocols.
In Italy, with a traditional single LNB antenna plant pointing on Hotbird 13° East use the following settings:
Satellite: Hotbird 13E
LNB type: Universal
22K: Off
DiSEqC: Disable
Positioner: None
Polarity: H/V
