2. Getting started

CAUTION!!!
Before reading this chapter you must have carefully read the previous chapter.
To make it easier to use the receiver and manage the great many satellite channels, several windows and
menus can be opened by pressing just one remote control button (see section 1.2.3). The menus have been
designed for the most common needs and their functions are essential in saving time when using the
receiver.
For the advanced functions in the receiver, its settings and custom options consult Chapter 3.
2.1 Channel Info Banners
Every time you change channel or press the OK button a box will appear at the bottom of the screen, known
as an information banner related to the channel being viewed. The banner can include the following
information (if transmitted by the broadcaster):
Actual time and date

Channel and satellite names
2.
Programme name
3.
Next programme name
4.
Channel group
5.
Channel number
6.
Extra details on the channel and services offered:

a. $ = coded channel
b. Subt = DVB subtitles available
c. TTX = Teletext available
d. EPG = EPG information available
When a channel banner is being shown press the INFO
particular programme. To close the window press EXIT.
CAUTION!!!
The information in the banner is provided by the broadcaster. If no information is transmitted, this will be
indicated.
2.2 Multi Audio Function
If the channel is being transmitted in multi audio you can select an audio track (i.e. language) and audio
mode (i.e. stereo, mono in right/left channel, mono, AC3) as follows:
press AUDIO on the remote control
use the ▲▼ buttons to select an audio option (Audio Track or Audio Mode)
set the option using the ◄► buttons
press EXIT to quit
2.3 Channel Organiser - TV/Radio Channel List Menu
To be able to manage the large quantity of radio and TV channels offered by satellite transmission a
practical channel organiser menu can be opened while viewing the programmes. Press BROWSE and then:
Press ▼▲ to scroll the list channel by channel
Press PAGE +/- to page scroll through the list
Press ◄► to view a channel group (e.g. main list, satellite list, favourite list, type list)
Press either OK, MENU or EXIT to view in full screen the selected channel and quit the menu
Various functions are provided in the menu, which can be selected by the number buttons on the remote
control:
Favourite: Add a channel to the main favourite channel list

Move: Move a channel to another position
2.
Find: Search for a channel by name
3.
Sort: Order the channel list
4.
Edit: Open a submenu to modify the channels (only for expert users)
5.
Type: Flag a channel by type (i.e. Sport, News, Music, Films, Shopping, Culture, Leisure)

The dollar $ symbol to the left of a channel name indicates that it is coded.
