2.4 Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)
Some satellite television channels not only transmit audio/video information about the channel, they also
offer optional information on daily, weekly or even fortnightly programming. This information can be used by
the receiver to set scheduled programmes (see Timer function).
To view the EPG page press the EPG button on the remote control: information on the programme
being viewed and the next programme is shown on the right-hand side of the box.
Use ▲▼ to select a channel
Use PAGE +/- to scroll the list by pages
Press OK or MENU to quit the EPG window
The EPG menu also offers other functions:
Schedule: showing daily to fortnightly programming and Timer options (par. 2.4.1)

Detail: showing detailed information about the programme (the brief/detailed information is swapped

when number button 1 is pressed)
CAUTION!!!
Not all channels transmit the EPG service so if some information is not shown the receiver is not faulty.
2.4.1 Setting a timer in the EPG window
A timer can be set directly from the EPG window using the information it contains.
To do so, open the EPG menu:
Press EPG
Use ▲▼ to select a channel
Press number button 1 to enter the schedule function of the programming transmitted by the channel
being viewed
Use the cursor buttons to select a programme
Press number button 2 to open the Timer menu
CAUTION!!!
The EPG timer function cannot be used for the programme being viewed since it has already begun. In this
case a timer error message will be shown.
If the parameters can be modified to suit your personal needs. To control the parameters and
functions available in the Timer menu consult the manual at section 3.3.3.2 Advanced functions
Press MENU. You will be asked if you want to save the settings. Press OK to confirm.
N.B.
When an Event Timer begins, if the receiver is in standby it will tune into the selected channel, if the receiver
is on and tuned into a channel, it will change to the selected channel. When the event or programme ends
the receiver will automatically go into standby.
