Changing Oil Filter
Replace the oil fi lter seasonally (150 hours), or at least

on most engines is located on top of the crankcase
between the cylinders. Some models use a remote
mounted oil fi lter. See Figures 6-7 and 6-8.

Replace the oil fi lter as follows:
1. Before removing the oil fi lter, clean the area
around the oil fi lter and housing to keep dirt and
debris out of the engine. Remove the old fi lter. On

loaded inner cup allows automatic oil drainback
into the crankcase as the oil fi lter is removed.
Wipe off the surface where the oil fi lter mounts.
2. Drain the oil from the engine crankcase.
3. Allow ample time for the oil to drain from the
crankcase.

on the new fi lter. Partial prefi lling of the oil fi lter
is recommended.
6. Install the new oil fi lter to the fi lter adapter or oil
