Make sure the cable jacket passes
through the PCB access slot to
protect the wires from the edge of
the PCB frame.

3. Using a

" nut driver/socket, remove the four

standoffs securing the antenna gyro to the bracket.
The standoff on the bottom right also secures a tie-
wrap (see Figure 5-6).
4. Remove the 3 tie-wraps securing the gyro cable to
the RF cables.
5. Disconnect the antenna gyro Molex connector
from the main PCB (see Figure 5-3). Remove the
old antenna gyro assembly.
6. Attach the new antenna gyro's Molex connector to
the main PCB.
7. Replace the antenna gyro gasket (see Figure 5-6).
8. Using the standoffs removed in Step 3, secure the
new antenna gyro to the bracket. The bottom right
standoff should be used to secure the tie-wrap on
the antenna gyro cable. The antenna gyro should
be oriented so that the cable extends from the top
of the gyro, as shown in Figure 5-6.
9. Reattach the counterweight and screws removed
in Step 2.
10. Redress the gyro and RF cables using 3 tie-wraps.
11. Carefully move the reflector through its range of
motion to ensure that the cable moves freely
between the elevation mechanism and the lower
assembly. Adjust the antenna gyro cable as
necessary to ensure proper motion.
Calibrating the Antenna Gyro
1. With the PC connected to the maintenance port,
apply power to the antenna unit.

2. Type
> (<cr> indicates a carriage
return/ENTER key) while the system is performing
the limit switch initialization routine. The system
will complete the initialization function by finding
the azimuth and elevation switch limits and then
go to the home position. Record the 8-digit serial
number displayed in the startup message.
3. Type
DEBUGON<cr>
4. Type =LSTEST<cr>.
5. Type =EL,300<cr>.
to enter Debug Mode.
