Disconnect center ground wire at radio side brace,
left side ground wires above left kick pad, and cluster
ground wire.
Loosen two (2) column to IP nuts, lower column part
way and disconnect ignition switch connectors.
Remove two (2) fuse block screws, route all wires to
left side of car and remove harness from car.
To replace, reverse removal procedure.
2. Remove bracket retaining screw.
3. Remove switch
4. To replace, reverse removal procedure. No adjust-
ment is necessary.
INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE HARNESS
Instrument panel harness installation is shown in Figs.
12-104 through 12-1 10.

From inside trunk, remove retaining nuts or screws and
remove housing.
Disconnect battery.
Disconnect bulkhead and fuse block from under
dash.
A Series (Fig. 12-1 12)
1. Remove rear valance panel.
Disconnect all harness connectors.
2. Disconnect tail lamp bulbs.
On 0 and F Series, remove wire harness clips retain-
ing wire harness.
3. Remove housing retaining screws.
On A and G Series it is necessary to disconnect instru-
ment panel pad and position on steering column (see
instrument cluster removal) in order to remove har-
ness from protective conduit.
4. To replace, reverse removal procedure.
X Series
1. On right side, remove jack handle and stand from its
mounting position.
To replace, reverse removal procedure.
2. Twist and remove three (3) bulbs and sockets from
housing, remove six (6) housing nuts inside trunk and
remove housing assembly from rear end panel.
X Series (Fig. 12-1 10)
Disconnect battery, remove bulkhead connector bolt,
remove glove box.
3. Separate gasket from housing assembly.
4. To replace, reverse removal procedure.
On A/C equipped cars, remove upper A/C extension
and lower A/C outlet at center of IP.
TAlL LAMP LENS
REMOVE A N D REPLACE
Remove ash tray, disconnect cigar lighter and glove
box lamp connectors.

F AND X SERIES
Remove radio (includes remove knobs, bezels, nuts
and disconnect antenna lead-in and connectors).
Remove tail lamp housing from inside trunk as previously
described and separate lens from housing.
Disconnect the following connectors: heater or A/C
control, clock, printed circuit, turn signal and neutral
start switch, turn signal flasher, headlamp and wiper
switch, stop lamp switch, dimmer and park brake
switch, body harness.
A AND G SERIES
Remove lens retaining screws and lens.
