For every Counter a reset of the Counter Value to zero can be triggered by the fol-
lowing Sources:

Software Reset Bit
•
Digital Input
•
Z-signal
In order for a Digital Input or the Z-Signal to trigger a Reset this must be enabled
by the Software Reset Enable Bit. Additionally a Digital Input can be assigned the
function of Reset Enable (Function 15, refer to 3-4 "Digital Input Functions").

For every Counter the Software Reset Bit can be used to trigger a Reset. The Soft-
ware Reset Bit has priority over all other Reset Sources. Setting the Software
Reset Bit triggers a Reset in the next I/O Refresh Cycle.

In order to use a Digital Input as Reset Source you must assign Function 5, 6, 11,
12, 13 or 14 to the corresponding Digital Input. Refer to 3-4 "Digital Input Func-
tions" for more information.
If you want to use the Z-Signal of an incremental encoder as a Reset Source this
must first be enabled in DM. Using the Z-Signal can be enabled for every Counter.
