Manual, 03/2017, NEB535219502000/RS-AB/008
Cause/solution
At least one bypass element has welded and/or at least one thyristor has fused. This
message is generated when the control supply voltage is applied and current flow is
being measured (via the soft starter) when no start command has been issued.
Remedy: Contact your SIEMENS representative or Technical Assistance (see
chapter Important notes (Page 9)).

Option 1: The temperature sensor on the heatsink of the starter is not connected or
defective.
Option 2: 3RW4465 and 3RW4466 may have a defective fan on the front of the
starter.
Remedy: Only in the case of 3RW4465 and 3RW4466: After about 30 to 60 minutes
cooling time, try to rectify the fault by switching the control supply voltage off and
then on again. If this was successful, check whether the fan on the front of the soft
starter is running when the start command is issued. If not, it may be necessary to
replace the fan. (The fan on the front of the starter and also the fans on the bottom of
the unit both be running simultaneously in fault-free operation).
For all 3RW44 starters:
If it was not possible to reset the fault message by switching the control supply
voltage off and on again, contact your SIEMENS partner or Technical Assistance.
The temperature sensor on the heatsink of the starter is not connected or defective.
Remedy: Contact your SIEMENS representative or Technical Assistance.
