EVER UPS POWERLINE RT 6000 / 10000 series instruction manual

Complete information concerning safety, operation, transport, maintenance, battery

replacement and storing a UPS unit have been included in the SAFETY

INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS chapter of this manual.

TRANSPORTING THE UPS UNIT

UPS should be transported only in the original packaging.

CAUTION! The UPS unit is equipped with an internal power source

(battery pack) with output voltage at the unit's output even though the

device is not connected to external power.

MAINTENANCE OF THE UPS UNIT AND BATTERIES

The area around the UPS unit should always be kept clean as part of preventive

maintenance. If the dust levels in the environment around the UPS unit is high,

always use a vacuum cleaner to clean the unit. To ensure maximum battery life,

ambient temperature around the operating UPS units should be 25ºC.

Caution: Battery life always depends on the frequency and type of use. The batteries

used in the UPS unit described in this manual have a design life of 3 to 5 years. After

that time, battery capacity, reliability and charging intervals will be considerably

reduced. To ensure maximum efficiency, batteries should be replaced at least every

5 years.

BATTERY HOT SWAP

CAUTION! Battery replacement should always be undertaken by suitably

qualified service technicians, who are familiar with the maintenance of

the battery system and who take the necessary precautions.

CAUTION! Battery replacement can be conducted only in the horizontal

position of the UPS unit (Rack version). Performing the operation in any

other position may cause damage to the device.
