at a rate of 40 mmHg until a high
enough pressure is reached.
If you require a higher inflation
pressure, you can avoid having to
repeat pumping by pressing the red
START/STOP button again shortly
after inflation starts and holding
down on it until the desired cuff
pressure is reached. This should be
approx. 30 mmHg over the systolic
(upper) value.
Important: You should not
move or talk throughout the
entire measuring procedure! If you
wish to stop measurement for any
reason, simply press the red
START/STOP button. The inflation or
measuring procedure is interrupted
and an automatic fall in pressure
occurs.
As pressure in the cuff decreases,
the heart symbol and the falling
cuff pressure are displayed. A beep
indicates the end of measurement.
Then the systolic and diastolic
blood pressure values appear simul-
taneously on the display, with the
pulse rate beneath them.
Once the measurement is finished,
the time appears above the meas
ured values and M1 or M2 is dis-
played on the left. M1 represents
the measured values for a first
person. Using M2 you can store the
measured values for a second
person (see 5.1 "Saving measured
values").
In order to switch off the device,
press the START/STOP button.
Otherwise the device will switch
itself off automatically after
3 minutes
