Connecting the Server Cables
These tasks describe how to connect and configure the network and serial ports before you
attempt to boot the server.

Review the cabling requirements.
2.
Review the front and rear panel connectors and ports.
3.
Connect the management and data cables.
4.
Secure the cables to the CMA.

Cabling Requirements
Prior to cabling and powering-on the server, gather the following network information:
Netmask
■
IP address for the SP
■
Gateway IP address
■
At a minimum, you must connect cables to these ports before powering-on the server for the
first time:
SP SER MGT port
