Trigger edge selection
For proper signal processing, it's important that you select the correct trigger edge for the
crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. The EMU is equipped with a Scope tool which is useful
to verify that the signal is being decoded correctly.
Changing a trigger edge also changes the base ignition angle. You must verify
ignition timing with a timing light after making any trigger setting changes .
Trigger edge selection for trigger wheels with missing teeth
When trigger wheel with missing teeth is used, edge choice can be verified by inspecting the scope
results in the region of the missing teeth.
When the edge is selected incorrectly, the gap associated with the missing teeth is smaller than
expected by the decoding algorithm.
