Troubleshooting Tips for CVA 26XX Cappuccinatore
Froth Problems
Customer's froth production tends to taper off after a period of time.
Symptom:
Froth production deteriorates over a period of time; customer may have had a
cappuccinatore previously replaced for the same reason.
Remedy:
First, ascertain that steam production has not failed and the customer is using
cold (35° F-45° F) milk. Also make sure that the proper settings and milk
levels are observed as outlined in the operator's manual. Since the
introduction of air is an essential component of froth, have the customer peel
the 'jet' assembly from the lid of the cappuccinatore and observe the air
channel as illustrated below:
Note the groove; this must be completely clear to properly froth the milk.
Have the customer gently clear this groove out with a toothpick. This should
remove any dried milk solids or debris.
Remind the customer about the importance of proper cleaning, i.e.
disassembling and cleaning in the dishwasher. The customer can purchase a
GCEO cappuccinatore insert for their Miele dishwasher, part number
06229800, to help make this task easier.
Should the small parts be heavily encrusted with milk solids, it's
recommended that the parts be soaked in hot water for a few hours before
washing.
