ask your doctor. The device is per-
manently connected to the cuff,
and the cuff should not be removed
from the device. Now wrap the cuff
round the wrist. The wrist monitor
should be positioned on the inside
of the wrist about 2 cm below the
base of the wrist. The lettering on
the upper side of the device points
in your direction (see fig.):
The cuff should be firm but not too
tight.
Please note that inappropriate
application of the cuff can
lead to inaccurate readings. Also
use the markings on the edge of
the cuff to check if the cuff size is
correct: The red dot on the silver-
coloured strap should point on the
red marking strip. If the red dot is
outside the red marking strip, the
cuff is too small for you. The
Tensoval mobil cuff circumference
ranges from 12.5 to 22.5 cm.
People with larger wrist circumfer-
ences are recommended to use an
upper arm blood pressure monitor
instead because wrist monitors give
inaccurate blood pressure readings
in such individuals (please read
Chapter 7 "Tensoval range of prod-
ucts" to learn more about this).

4. Measuring blood pressure

We recommend carrying out blood
pressure measurements whilst seat-
ed. Do not turn the device on until
the cuff has been applied, other-
wise the cuff can become damaged
through the resulting excess pres-
sure.
Press the blue START/STOP button.
The appearance of all display seg-
ments followed by a flashing arrow
pointing downwards, shows that
the device is checking itself auto-
matically and is ready for use.
Position the wrist with the
strapped-on device and the palm of
the hand pointing inwards at the
level of the heart.
