Description of Menu Items
This section describes the items that can be configured on each menu.
Tray Settings
Use the Tray Settings menu to define the paper size and type loaded in each tray.

Paper Size
Specifies whether to display the message that prompts you to set the paper size and
type or not every time you load paper to the bypass tray or 550 sheet feeder (optional).
When you select [On], the message that prompts you to set the paper size and type is
displayed.
• [Bypass Tray] (default: [Off])
• [Optional Tray] (default: [On])
Specifies the way to set the paper type and size settings to be loaded in the bypass tray.
• [Panel Specified]
You can specify the paper type and size settings on the control panel. Printing can be
done only when the settings on the printer driver matches the settings on the control
panel.
• [Driver Specified] (default)
You cannot specify the settings on the control panel. Printing is done using the
settings on the printer driver.
Specifies the type of paper loaded in each tray. This item is displayed when the [Bypass
Mode] is set to [Panel Specified], or the optional 550 sheet feeder is installed.
• [Tray 1] (default: [Plain 1])
• [Tray 2] (default: [Plain 1])
• [Tray 3] (default: [Plain 1]
• [Tray 4] (default: [Plain 1])
• [MPF] (default: [Plain 1])
Note
• [Tray 2], [Tray 3], and [Tray 4] are displayed only when the optional sheet feeder is
installed.
• [MPF] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified].

Specify the paper size and orientation for each tray. This item is displayed when the
[Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified], or the optional 550 sheet feeder is installed.
• [Tray 1] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [Tray 2] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [Tray 3] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [Tray 4] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [MPF] (default: [Driver Specified])
Note
• [Tray 2], [Tray 3], and [Tray 4] are displayed only when the optional sheet feeder is
installed.
• [MPF] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified].
