Regolazione gioco dei cuscinetti dello sterzo
Per motivi di sicurezza lo sterzo dovrebbe essere sempre mantenuto registrato
in modo tale che il manubrio di guida ruoti liberamente senza gioco. Per con-
trollare la registrazione dello sterzo, posizionare sotto al motore un cavalletto o
un blocco in modo che la ruota anteriore sia sollevata dal terreno. Premere leg-
germente sulle estremità del manubrio per mettere in rotazione l'articolazione
di sterzo; il manubrio dovrà ruotare senza sforzo. Mettetevi di fronte al motoci-
clo, afferrate le estremità inferiori dei portasteli della forcella e tirate e spingete
avanti e indietro; se si avverte gioco occorre eseguire la regolazione operando
come segue:
- allentare il dado (1) del cannotto di sterzo.
- allentare le quattro viti (3) di fissaggio della testa di sterzo alle canne portan-
ti;
- ruotare in senso orario la ghiera (2) di registro del cannotto di sterzo con l'ap-
posita chiave speciale fino ad ottenere una corretta registrazione (il manubrio
deve ruotare liberamente ma senza gioco);
- serrare il dado (1) alla coppia prescritta;
- serrare le viti di bloccaggio degli steli alla testa di sterzo alla coppia prescrit-
ta.
Controllare di nuovo lo sterzo e regolare ulteriormente se necessario.
NOTA: è possibile variare l'inclinazione dello sterzo utilizzando le bussole
fornite nel "KIT IN DOTAZIONE" (vedere Capitolo P).
Adjusting the steering bearings
For safety purposes, always keep the steering adjusted; the handlebar must turn
freely, but without play.
Set a stand or a block under the engine and see that the front wheel is lifted
from the ground to check the correct adjustment of the steering.
Lightly press on the tips of the handlebar to turn the steering joint; the handle-
bar must turn freely. Grasp the lower tips of the forkrods facing the motorcycle
and pull or push to and fro.
If some play is found, adjust by working as follows:
- Loosen nut (1) of the steering sleeve;
- Loosen the four screws (3) which fasten the steering head to the structure;
- Turn ring nut (2) clockwise (using the special wrench supplied) to
correctly adjust the steering sleeve (see that the handlebar turns freely, but with-
out play).
- Tighten nut (1) using the required torque.

- Tighten the rod screws to the steering head using the required torque.
Check the steering once again and make a further adjustment if necessary.
NOTA: If is possible to change the steering head rake using the bushings
supplied with the "EQUIPMENT KITS" (see Chapter P).

Réglage du jeu des paliers de la direction
Pour des raisons de sécurité, garder la direction toujours réglée, de façon à
avoir un mouvement sans contrainte du guidon, mais sans jeu aussi.
Pour contrôler le réglage de la direction, placer une béquille ou un block
dessous le moteur, de façon à avoir la roue avant soulevée du sol.
Presser doucement sur les extrémitès du guidon pour tourner sa charnière. Le
guidon doit tourner sans effort.
Se placer devant la moto en saisissant les extrémités inférieures des tiges
fourche, et an poussant et en tirant d'avant en arrière.
S'il y a du jeu, effectuer un réglage en opérant comme suit:
- Desserrer l'écrou (1) de la tige de direction;
- Desserrer les quatre vis (3) fixant la tête de direction à la structure;
- Tourner en sens horaire le collier (2) de réglage tige de direction en utilisant la
clé spéciale, jusqu'à obtenir un réglage correct (le guidon doit tourner sans
effort, mais sans jeu aussi).
- Serrer l'écrou (1) à la couple étab lie.
- Serrer les vis de blocage des tiges de la tête de direction à la couple établie.
Contrôler de nouveau le guidon et le régler si nécessaire.
NOTA: Il est possible de changer l'inclinaison de le forreau de direction en
utilisant les douilles fornis avec le "KIT EN NECESSAIRE" (voir Chapitre P).
