Problem
Cannot turn the key.
(When using a key to start the
engine)
(When using the F.A.S.T.-key
to start the engine)
The F.A.S.T.-key does not
operate.
(for vehicles equipped with the
F.A.S.T.-key)
Cannot shift the selector lever
from the "P" (PARK) position.

If this problem occurs...

When using a key to start the engine
Will not turn from "LOCK" to "ACC".
Turn the key while turning the steering wheel in either direction.
Will not turn from "ACC" to "LOCK".
Check the position of the selector lever.
The key cannot be removed unless the selector lever is set to the "P" (PARK) position.
When using the F.A.S.T-key to start the engine
Will not turn from "LOCK (PUSH OFF)" to "ACC".
Push the ignition switch again, turn the steering wheel in both directions and then turn the
ignition switch.
Will not turn from "ACC" to "LOCK".
Check whether the selector lever is set to the "P" (PARK) position.
Use the emergency key to lock and unlock the doors and the tailgate, and start the engine.
Shift the selector lever while pressing the brake pedal.
Check that the ignition switch is in the "ON" position.
