Replacing the Wiper Cleaners
and Wipers
If nozzle clogs persist after Head Cleaning has been
performed several times or cleaning has been
performed, the wiper cleaners or wipers may be worn or
deteriorated. In the following situations, replace the
wiper cleaners and the wipers.
❏ Wiper: The wiper edge remains rough even after
stains were wiped off using the cleaning stick.
Otherwise, the wiper is cracked.
❏ Wiper cleaner: A film of ink has adhered to the rear
surface of the absorbent section.
Follow the procedure below to replace the parts.
Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the
following:

Position the print head for maintenance
purposes.
"Moving the Print Head" on page 77

After the print head moves to the left end of the
printer, open the right maintenance cover.
Maintenance

Remove the wiper cleaner.
Grasp the cleaner as shown and lift it from the
printer.
