DISASSEMBLE CENTER SUPPORT
AND INTERMEDIATE CLUTCH
PISTON
1 . Remove center support to reaction carrier
thrust washer from recess in center support.
2 . If replacement is required, remove oil seal
rings from the center support. All service center sup-
port oil seal rings are hook type cast iron or teflon,

Snap Ring
3 . Using Clutch Spring Compressor, J-4670, and
Rear Clutch Spring Compressor, J-6129, Figure 61,
compress spring retainer and remove snap ring with
Snap Ring Pliers, J-8059 or J-5586 .
4. Remove spring retainer, six intermediate
clutch release springs, and spring guide. Figure 62 .
5. Remove intermediate clutch piston from cen-
ter support.
6. Remove inner and outer seals from clutch pis-
ton.
NOTE :
Do not remove the three screws retaining
roller clutch inner race to center support.
