• Compress the valve spring using the special tools.
$ 09916-14510: Valve lifter

Compressing of the valve spring must be limited to
the extent only necessary to prevent the spring from
fatigue.
• Install the valve cotter halves 2.

Check that the rounded lip E of the cotter is securely
fitted in the groove F in the valve stem end.
NOTE:
To facilitate assembly, apply a little grease to the valve cotter
when fitting into the valve stem groove.

CAMSHAFT

CAM WEAR
• Check the camshaft for wear or damage.
• Measure the cam height H with the micrometer.
% Cam height H:
Service Limit: (IN) : 32.420 mm
$ 09900-20202: Micrometer (25 – 50 mm)
CAMSHAFT JOURNAL WEAR
• Determine whether or not each journal is worn down to the
limit by measuring the oil clearance with the camshaft
installed in place.
• Use the plastigauge to read the clearance at the widest por-
tion, which is specified as follows:
% Camshaft journal oil clearance:
Service Limit: ((22)
((17.5) 0.150 mm
