5.2.4 SP Switch board

An SP Switch board contains eight SP Switch chips that provide connection
points for each of the nodes to the SP Switch network as well as for each of the
SP Switch boards to the other SP Switch boards. There are 32 SP Switch ports
in total. Of these, 16 could be connected to nodes and the other 16 to other SP
Switch boards. The SP Switch board is mounted in the SP Frame. Figure 5-4
shows the interconnections used on the switch board.
