(10) Adjusting the margins for scanning an original on the contact glass

Perform the following adjustment if the margins are not correct.

Caution:
Before making the following adjustment, ensure that the above adjustments have been made in maintenance mode.
Procedure
Enter maintenance mode.
Enter "403" using the numeric keys.
Press the start key.
Select the item to be adjusted using
the copy exposure adjustment keys.
Press the interrupt key.
Press the start key
to make a test copy
(A test copy is output at the
reduction ratio of 95%).
Are the margins correct?
Yes
Proceed to another mode?
Press the stop/clear key to
exit maintenance mode.

Exp. 1 (lit): Scanner left margin
Exp. 2 (lit): Scanner leading edge margin
Exp. 3 (lit): Scanner right margin
Exp. 4 (lit): Scanner trailing edge margin
Press the start key.
The new setting
is stored.
Change the setting.
Increasing the value using the zoom
(+) key makes the margin wider.
Decreasing the value using the
zoom (–) key makes the margin
narrower.
Setting range (default)
Scanner left margin: 0.0 – +10.0 (2.5)
Scanner leading edge margin: 0.0 – +10.0 (4.0)
Scanner right margin: 0.0 – +10.0 (4.0)
Scanner trailing edge margin: 0.0 – +10.0 (3.0)
Changing the value by one moves
the margin by 0.5 mm for all.
