The Metabo PKU 250 Saw is intended for ripping and crosscutting grown timber, faced boards, chip board, wood-core plywood sheets, and similar wood-derived materials. To operate the saw, push the red button up, open the flap, and then press button (1). To switch off the saw, press the red button until the flap locks into position.
The Metabo PKU 250 Saw is compatible with blades that have a diameter of 250 mm (9 27/32") and a thickness between 2.8 - 3.2 mm (7/64"-1/8"). It is recommended to use fine-toothed and sharp saw blades. A carbide-tipped scoring saw blade 23 815 is also compatible when using the scoring saw kit.

The Metabo PKU 250 Saw is powered by electricity with a voltage of 230-240 V or 380-415 V. The input power (P1) is 2.1 kW or 2.7 kW, and the output power (P2) is 1.6 kW or 2.0 kW.

The Metabo PKU 250 Saw can be used with several components and accessories, including a double mitring fence, an additional fence, a scoring saw kit, a cross-cut fence and stop, an additional table for the left side, and a roller support.
The Metabo PKU 250 Saw does not have an integrated dust collection system, but it requires a suitable dust collector to be attached for operation. The dust collector must meet specific requirements: it should be suitable for suction ports of 35 mm (blade guard) and 80 mm (chipcase), have an air flow volume ≥ 335 m³/h, a vacuum at the dust extraction port of ≥ 900 Pa, and an air speed at the dust extraction port of ≥ 23.6 m/s. The saw has a plug socket (1) for the suction unit, which is active only when the machine is switched on and carrying a current.
