General Maintenance and Inspection

In order to operate the unit under optimum conditions, it is vital not only that regular inspections be
performed, but also that an accurate record of inspections be kept. Inspections enable problems to be
identified before they become major malfunctions.
The following inspections should be made regularly.
Inspection sequence
1
Antenna system
2
SQL operation
3
Receiver performance checked by
speaker output
4
Handset PTT switch
5
Transmission and reception checked
by performing radio communication.
5.1.2

Inspection of the Antenna System

The error message ANTENNA FAULT appears when the antenna system (including connectors and
cables) is defective. Check antenna and connectors. When the error message ANTENNA FAULT
appears, the transmission power (antenna power) is automatically reduced to 1w to protect the unit.
