2.3.4 Image Processing Operation

The image processing sequence is explained below.
1. ISN Board: CCD Image Sensor
Opto-electronic transformation processing in which light
reflected from the document surface is transformed into an
electric charge.
Amplification processing
2. Main Board: Scanned image data processing
Analog-to-digital conversion processing in which the scanned
image data generated as an analog electric signal is converted to
a digital signal.
Shading correction processing, in which the scanned image data
is corrected compared to white and black reference values.
Various image correction processing, such as gamma correction,
color correction, halftone correction, etc. as determined by
software settings on the host-computer.
3. The above processing is performed and the final scanned image data
is output to the computer host.
