Dual fuel system using an iComfort
®
SL280) with an iComfort
heat pump (XP17, XP17N, XP21, XP21N and XP25
only).
1. Wiring—See Communicating System and optional accessories Wiring
diagrams.
• 4-conductor thermostat wire between the HD Display, Smart-Hub and gas
furnace (R, i+, i-, C)
• 4-conductor thermostat wire from the furnace terminal strip to the iComfort
heat pump (R, i+, i-, C)
• Wiring as required for accessories
2. DO NOT cut any option link on furnace control.
3. After the entire system is wired, power up the system; the iComfort
check the system for installed communication devices.
4. During the Installer System Setup (see page 14) you will end that process
with the dealer control center. From there select equipment to modified any
system or equipment settings.
5. Select Balance Point Control and press edit. Use the down arrow to select
Enabled. A pop-up warning screen indicating that due to enabling Balance
Point Control other related parameter values were automatically changed.

An outdoor temperature sensor is provided in all iComfort
outdoor temperature on the home screen of the HD Display, you can enable this
feature under the dealer control center. Use the following procedure to enable the
outdoor temperature sensor display.
1. Press the Menu icon on the Home screen and then press settings.
2. Press advanced settings and then press view dealer control center.
3. Press equipment and then press thermostat.
4. Press Outdoor Temperature and select sensor. Press the back arrow (<)
at the top left-hand of the screen to return to the dealer control center.
5. Press exit
6. From the Home screen, press menu and then press settings.
7. Press display and press outdoor temperature.
8. Press sensor to select the outdoor sensor. Press < display to return to
display screen. There under outdoor temperature it will indicate sensor.
9. Press the Home icon at the top left-hand corner of the screen to return to
Home screen.

6. Complete Balance Point Control by editing the High and Low Balance Points.
It is not necessary to change the defaults.
7. From the equipment list, press Furnace. From this furnace screen you will
have access to the various airflow settings. Set the system air volumes
according the needs of the home.
8. When all CFM settings are complete, press the back arrow (<) at the top
left-hand of the screen to return to the dealer control center. Press tests to

access the test section
9. Here you will have another opportunity to adjust blower circulation, heating and
cooling circulation air flows. Use the plus or minus buttons to adjust up or down
the CFM settings. Once adjustments are completed, press continue.

10. Under the select test to run, you may un-check any test not required, or run
all test. Press start tests to proceed. Once each test section is completed,
press continue to proceed to the next group of test.
11. Once all test are completed, press done. The will return you to the select tests
to run screen. If finish, press the back arrow (<) at the top left-hand of the
screen to return to the dealer control center. Press exit to return the HOME
screen.
TIPS
To enable the Indoor Humidity Display on the Home screen use the following
procedure:
1. Press the Menu icon on the Home screen and then press settings.
2. Press advanced settings and then press view dealer control center.
3. Press equipment and then press thermostat.
4. Press Display Indoor Humidity and toggle to on. Press the back arrow (<)
at the top left-hand of the screen to return to the dealer control center.
5. Press exit
6. From the Home screen, press menu and then press settings.
7. Press display and go to indoor humidity and toggle to on.
8. Press the Home icon at the top left-hand corner of the screen to return to
Home screen.
Gas heat is provided to temper the air during defrost cycles.
