To stop only the recording to the SxS memory card
during simultaneous recording
Press the COPY button to show the progress of the
copying. Press the ABORT function button (F1), and
then press the YES (F5) button to abort the copy
operation.
For the behavior of media in simultaneous recording,
see "SxS memory card operation during simultaneous
recording" (see page 51).
Notes
• The shortest clip that can be recorded is 2 seconds long.
Even if recording start and stop operations are performed
within 2 seconds, a 2-second clip is recorded.
• The maximum recordable number of clips depends on
the media, as follows.
Media
Maximum number of clips
HDD
3000
SxS memory card
600
XQD memory card
600
When the maximum recordable number is reached, no
further recording is possible. (The message "MAX #
Clips" appears in the status display area.)
• This unit can record video input signals that are not
synchronized to a reference signal. However, in that
case, video breakup and audio noise may occur in E-E
playback.
• During recording, do not turn off the main power switch
on the rear panel or disconnect the power cord. This
could cause the clip being recorded to be lost.
Note that no recorded clip contents are lost when the
on/standby button on the front panel is set to standby
during recording, because the unit does not enter standby
mode until after the end of recording processing.
SxS memory card operation during simultaneous
recording
• If the SxS memory card is in an unrecordable state, a
message appears and recording to internal storage only
starts. Recording to the SxS memory card is paused until
the memory card is ejected and a recordable memory
card is inserted.
Press the STOP button to stop recording. To abort
recording to an SxS memory card while recording is
paused, press the INTERNAL button or the MEMORY
button.
• When during recording the remaining space of the SxS
memory card becomes insufficient, then the recording to
the card stops, and the card is ejected. The recording to
the internal storage continues. If you insert a recordable
SxS memory card when a message is displayed to
confirm whether you wish to replace the card and
continue the recording or to stop the recording,
recording to the inserted SxS memory card starts from
the position where the recording to the previous card was
aborted.
If continuing simultaneous recording spanning multiple
memory cards, you can set the overlap between memory
cards in menu item 160 INTER-MEDIA OVERLAP
SELECT.
To stop the recording, press the STOP button.
• If you press the EJECT button to remove the SxS
memory card while recording, the recording to the card
stops, and the card is ejected. The recording to the
internal storage continues. If you insert a recordable SxS
memory card when a message is displayed to confirm
whether you wish to replace the card and continue the
recording or to stop the recording, recording to the
inserted SxS memory card starts from the position where
the recording to the previous card was aborted.
To stop the recording, press the STOP button.
• When recording to the internal storage becomes
impossible, the recording to the SxS memory card also
stops.
To adjust the audio recording levels
When carrying out audio recording at a reference
level
Set the VARIABLE switch to "PRESET".
The audio signals will be recorded at a preset reference
level.
You can change the reference level and the input levels
with maintenance menu item M37: AUDIO CONFIG.
See page 117 for more information about how to make
maintenance menu settings.
Manually adjusting the audio recording levels
Set the VARIABLE switch to "REC" and use the CH-1/
ALL CH and CH-2 to CH-4 knobs to adjust CH-1 to CH-
4, and use A5 VOL to A8 VOL on page P3 AUDIO of the
function menu to adjust CH-5 to CH-8 so that the audio
level indications on the audio level meters do not exceed 0
dB for a maximum volume.
To set shot marks on the frame being
recorded when recording operation is

Shot marks can be set for clips being recorded in internal
storage. To set a shot mark, press the PUSH SET knob
while holding down the up or down arrow button when
