Paper exit opening solenoid control

A. Paper exit opening solenoid drive mechanism
Since the paper exit roller rotates slower than the conveyance roller, the nip is released except when paper is
being exited. However, when the paper gets to the paper exit opening, the paper exit opening solenoid (SD4) [1]
moves to the nip moving section [2] and presses the nip roller [4] firmly against the main tray paper exit roller [3]
to nip the paper. And then, the paper thus nipped is discharged in the main tray direction [5]. The paper exit is
detected by the main tray paper exit sensor (PS6) [6].

B. Timing to turn ON the paper exit opening solenoid
(1) Non-sort/sort/group mode
The paper exit opening solenoid (SD4) turns ON a specified period of time after the FS entrance sensor (PS4)
detects the trailing edge of the paper.
(2) Stapling mode
The SD4 turns ON to nip the paper a specified period of time after the stapling operation is completed.
C. Timing to turn OFF the paper exit opening solenoid
In all modes, the SD4 turns OFF a specified period of time after the main tray paper exit sensor (PS6) detects the
paper.
