Stacker entrance transfer control

A. Stacker entrance transfer mechanism
In the stacker section, to make the device compact, the stack method of approx. 70 degrees tilt angle is
employed. And for the stacker entrance roller [5], a corrugation roller is employed to assist the paper convey-
ance to the stacker.
For paper conveyance to the stacker, the stacker entrance motor (M13) rotates and drives the stacker entrance
roller.
At the start of the conveyance operation, M13 rotates at a high speed to convey paper quickly. When the
stacker entrance sensor (PS5) [4] detects the trailing edge of paper and M13 changes into a low speed rotation,
the paper assist roller [2] starts to rotate and the conveyance speed gets slower. The alignment of the trailing
edge of paper is made by the swing belt /Up [7] and the swing belt /Lw [6] that are driven by the paper fall by its
own weight and M13, and the paper is conveyed to the stacker.
When the M13 changes into a high speed rotation once again a specified period of time after a low speed rota-
tion is started, the next paper gets into the standby condition for conveyance. And the moment the final page of
a same copy is conveyed and the stapling operation is started, M13 stops and the conveyance to the stacker is
completed. In the folding mode, M13 stops upon completion of alignment operation of the final paper.
In order to prevent the paper tailing edge from being curled and disordered, the paper assist roller is used to
control the conveyance according to the number of sheets of a stack or paper size.
The paper assist roller is rotated and driven with the paper assist motor (M51) [1] and pressed against the paper
with the paper assist solenoid (SD51) [3].
