10. FOLDING/SADDLE STITCHING, TRI-FOLDING
B. Folding/saddle stitching and tri-folding (first folding) control
A specified period of time after the folding passage sensor (PS26) detects the paper conveyed and the saddle
stitching stopper stops at the folding position, the folding blade motor (M19) turns ON [2] to stick out the folding
blade in the direction of the paper.
When the folding blade makes one reciprocating motion and the folding blade home sensor (PS22) turns ON,
the folding transfer motor (M20) also turns ON [3] to start to rotate at a low speed and drive the folding roller.
And then, the low speed rotation of the folding roller allows the paper to be folded. After completion of the fold-
ing operation, when M20 changes into a high speed rotation [4], the folding roller also rotates at a high speed to
exit the paper into the booklet tray.
A specified period of time after the folding paper exit sensor (PS25) detects the trailing edge of the paper bun-
dle, M20 stops rotation.
