8.2.4

White spots/void areas in high-density areas

Function
• Adjusts image characteristics according to user requirements for each type of media
by varying the second transfer voltage.
Use
• When an image problem (void areas, white spots) occurs due to the characteristics of
the type of media being used.
To give preference to the image quality of fine line drawing
To give preference to the image quality of solid images
Setting
1. Connect the printer to the PC.
/procedure
2. Execute the "LineDrawEffect.exe" Service Support Tool.
3. Select the type of media for which adjustments are to be made.
4. Click "Status" to check the current setting.
5. Click to select either Void Area+1 or White Spot+1.
6. Click "Status" again to make sure that the setting has been correctly changed.
7. Execute a test print and check for the correct image.
8. If good effects are not obtained, change the setting to either Void Area+2 or White
Spot+2.
9. Turn the Power Switch OFF and then ON again.

Consumables expected life display

Function
• Displays the expected remaining life (as a percentage) of the 2nd Transfer Roller,
Transfer Belt Unit, and Fusing Unit.
Use
• For checking the remaining life of the 2nd Transfer Roller, Transfer Belt Unit, and Fus-
ing Unit.
Setting
1. Connect the printer to the PC.
/procedure
2. Execute the "CounterDisplay.exe" Service Support Tool.
3. Check the counter for each consumable.
