The vocal genius section has a double function: to process a vocal signal connected to the Genesys xp Mic Audio In and to
use this signal as carrier to generate a realtime controlled 4 voices harmonization. Thanks to its hard disk recording section,
Genesys xp allows to record your vocal performances in a wave file .

Before you start, reduce the MIC volume in the VOCAL GENIUS section to the minimum. Now you're

ready to connect a mi cro phone to the MIC/L input on the instrument's back panel.
As you can see in the rear panel there are two connectors: the MIC/L in put is used for a microphone effects and the
harmony function. The LINE input can be used to connect a line impedance instrument like a guitar.
2 Connect and switch on the microphone, press the button EFFECT to enter in the genius main page
3 Adjust the input sensitivity by rotating the rear panel knob
Send a test signal using your voice, the VU-Meter display will help you to set the mic input.
WARNING!
If the VU-Meter shows
the "Peak" message even
during a continuous vo-
cal signal, the signal is
too loud and probably
distorted. Digital distor-
tion completely ruins the
signal.
NOTE
Use the MIC LIMITER
to reduce the risk to
overload the input
4 Press the button ON and increase the volume slider to listen the microfone in your P .A.
NOTE
Remember to balance the Vocal genius Micro and the Genius levels with the MAIN volume slider. The optimal MAIN volume set-
ting is approx. 3/4 slider position.
