SELECTION
DATA INPUT
F4 GENERAL SET
The GENERAL SET function permits to change the overall MIDI settings of
the instrument
Midi clock
This allows you to select whether the styles and SONG PLAYER tempo will synchronize to the
internal clock or to an external clock.
Clock send
Selects whether or not the Genesys. internal MIDI CLOCK information will be sent via MIDI OUT.
Midi merge
Allows the MIDI data received to by processed by the internal setting. This means that the
MIDI IN data can be processed by the volume, transpose, MIDI filters etc. before being
sent to MIDI OUT.
Midi in transpose
Turning this on will allow incoming MIDI events to be affected by the TRANSPOSE buttons
on the front panel
Midi in fix velocity
This function will increase the velocity of all notes received at MIDI IN by the specified
amount.
System Exclusive
Turning this on allows the reception and transmission of Genesys system exclusive data
via MIDI
SysExc Device ID
Allows you to set the unique device I.D number to identify the Genesys to other MIDI
equipmen
SMF save format
Define the format, 0 or 1 to save a midifile
General midi
General Midi songs vendors will normally state whether their songs are compliant with either
General Midi Level 1 or General Midi Level 2 specifications. Set this parameter accordingly
for accurate playback of these songs
Bank Select
Turning this on allows an external instrument to access all of the Genesys xp internal sounds
via midi. If this is turned off, only bank 1, (the General Midi bank) is accessible.

Set the receiving/transmission MIDI channel for each track

Define the path of the MIDI segnal for each selected track

F3 MIDI FILTERS
Each part has 14 filters available - 7 filters for MIDI IN and 7 filters for MIDI
OUT. These filters allow you to specify up to 7 events which you do not want
the selected part to either send or receive. Select a part by pressing the button
to its left and then set the filters as required. The filters on the left will stop the
specified events from being received while those of the right will stop the
specified events from being sent. In the example below, part 8 has been set
to ignore any volume messages that it receives and not to send any program
change or pitch bend events.
