IF YOU CANNOT MAKE CLEAR COPIES

Problem
Copies appear dirty.
The reverse side of
an original image is
copied.
A shadow appears
on copies when you
use the pasted origi-
nals.
The same copy area
is dirty whenever
making copies.
Copies are too light.
Parts of the image
are not copied.
Copies are blank.
Cause
The image density is too
dark.
Auto Image Density is not
selected.
The image density is too
dark.

The image density is too

The exposure glass, platen
cover, or auto document
feeder wbelt is dirty.
The image density is too
light.
Improper paper is set.
Toner cartridge is almost
empty.

Change the direction of the original.
Put mending tape on the pasted part.

Note
If you make a copy on rough-grain, coated, or
damp paper, the copy image might be blurred.

Select the proper paper size.
Set the original face down when setting on the ex-
posure glass and face up when setting in the auto
