Notes on the operating instructions

You will find the operating and installation instructions for talk&surf as *.pdf files on the
talk&surf CD. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the instructions. This can be
installed directly from the talk&surf wizard.

Read the instructions carefully before using talk&surf for the first time.
You will also find the Readme.txt file on the talk&surf CD. This contains further impor-
tant information that became available after the instructions were printed.

Read this additional information contained in the Readme.txt carefully.
You will find an overview of the talk&surf CD folder structure in Chapter "Contents of the
talk&surf CD" on page 10.

General
Always pass on the devices with the installation leaflet and the talk&surf CD.

Dispose of CD-ROMs you no longer need in an environmentally friendly manner as

per statutory requirements.
Not all of the functions described in these instructions are available in all countries.

Installation
Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP you must have administrator rights. If nec-
u
essary, contact your system administrator.
Before installing talk&surf 6.0: Uninstall any older version of talk&surf.

Before installing talk&surf, read the information in Chapter "System requirements"
u
on page 11 to avoid loss of data.
Do not connect the USB cable until the talk&surf wizard prompts you to do so. Imme-
u
diately close the automatic hardware recognition function of the Windows operat-
ing system if this is accidentally started.
