Central directory

You can create directory entries only with the handset or the central directory (PC direc-
tory). There are particular advantages if you create or edit entries in the central direc-
tory:
Editing directory entries is easier using a PC.
u
It is much quicker to enter names using the keyboard. The scroll function makes it
easier to keep track of the entries and you can see at a glance which entries are miss-
ing or out of date.
Each new or edited entry is stored centrally in talk&surf.
u
Instead of a time-consuming synchronisation of individual handset directories, you
can transfer the latest version of your directory to any handset you want.
The capacity of the central directory is practically unlimited.
u
Since the central directory is stored in the PC, the capacity is limited only by the avail-
able memory on your PC. Thus you can store a far greater number of telephone
numbers in the central directory than in a handset directory.
Import functions reduce the work involved.
u
Existing directories can be received from a handset. Address files of other programs
or the telephone database of a preceding version of talk&surf 6.0 can be imported
to your PC. All the directory entries are included in the central directory. As a rule,
such entries only need to be checked for their validity.
