Local Answering Machine

Only available for Gigaset SX255isdn and Gigaset SX353isdn.
The Answering machine dialogue is only displayed if your base station has one or more
answering machines. If your base station has several answering machines you can set
them up differently. This assumes that the internal answering machines have been
switched on at the base station. Please bear in mind that the internal answering
machines cannot answer incoming calls at the same time.
The standard message for your answering machine has been preset in up to three lan-
guage variants for the country in which your base station is sold. With the phrase down-
load tool you can select a different language variant if you need on. You will find a more
detailed description of the phrase download tool in Chapter "Replacing the answering
machine pre-recorded announcements" on page 27.
You can of course record your own message using a comfort telephone or

handset.

All day
Use the All-day dialogue to select the answering machine you want to set up and to
define whether it is to remain switched off, active all day or via time control. If you acti-
vate time control, you will have to configure it in the Time control tab. In the lower sec-
tion of the tab, choose which announcement is to be used for the selected answering
machine.
Time control
Use the Time control dialogue to define how an answering machine is to respond. This
assumes that time control has been selected for the answering machine in the All-day
tab.
You can define a separate start time for each announcement. For example, you can
give people who call during business hours the opportunity to leave a message,
whereas out of business hours they hear the announce only message.
Time control Mon-Fri: Enter the start times for when your answering machine is to
switch the active announcement text. You can define up to 4 periods during the
course of a day during which the answering machine can have different settings.
You can choose from Announcement 1, Announcement 2, Announce only text or
off.
Time control Sat/Sun: For Saturday or Sunday you can either have the same set-
tings for week days or switch the answering machine off for that day. In addition you
can use all-day mode with Announcement 1, Announcement 2 or the Announce
only text.
