spanning-tree portfast default

To globally enable PortFast by default on all access ports, use the spanning-tree portfast default
command. To disable PortFast as default on all access ports, use the no form of this command.
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or keywords.

Usage Guidelines
Caution
Be careful when using this command. You should use this command only with interfaces that connect to
end stations; otherwise, an accidental topology loop could cause a data packet loop and disrupt the
Catalyst4500 series switch and network operation.
An interface with PortFast mode enabled is moved directly to the spanning tree forwarding state when
linkup occurs without waiting for the standard forward-time delay.
You can enable PortFast mode on individual interfaces using the
configuration mode)
