5.2.6. Protection against network attacks

Protection of your computer against network attacks is provided only if
you did not disable it during the installation of the application.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus allows protecting your computer against hacker's attacks
attempted from the local area network or from the internet.
Hackers' attacks are detected using the database of currently known attacks.
This database is updated and installed along with the anti-virus database (details
see 5.1 on page 39).
Protection against network attacks is launched at Kaspersky Anti-Virus startup
and scans all data received from the network irrespective of the source: LAN or
internet.
Once your computer is attacked, such attempt will be blocked. A corresponding
notification will be displayed on the screen (see Figure 23) containing information
