Real-time protection mode

Real-time protection of your computer is provided only if you did not
disable it during the installation of the application.
Real-time protection is a mode of operation in which Kaspersky Anti-Virus
provides constant monitoring of all calls to the file system's objects, incoming and
outing mail and the execution of potentially dangerous VBScript, JavaScript
scripts and macros used by office applications and detecting potentially
dangerous programs
When an object is opened for writing/reading by a user or a program, the
application will scan it for viruses. If a virus is detected, the application attempts
to disinfect the infected object, deletes it or blocks access to such object
(depending on the settings you defined). Thus, the application detects and
removes malicious code prior to actual system infection.
In the real-time protection mode, the application performs several functions:
real-time file protection (see section 5.2.1 on page 53);
real-time mail protection (see section
VBA macros monitoring (see section 5.2.4 on page 64);
real-time scripts monitoring (see section 5.2.5 on page 66);
real-time protection against network attacks (see section 5.2.6 on page
67).
Each of the above functions can be configured individually or can be disabled
which will not affect the performance of other components of the real-time
computer protection system.
Information about the current state of the real-time protection system is displayed
in the right part of the Protection tab (see Figure 2) of the main application
window.
The real-time protection status can be indicated by the following icons:
real-time protection enabled, the settings correspond to the
recommended settings;
real-time protection enabled, but the settings do not correspond to the
recommended settings;
