Computer protection using the default settings
If an infected object is detected, Kaspersky Anti-Virus will attempt to
disinfect it and deletes the object if disinfection fails, creating a copy of it
in the backup storage; if a suspicious object is detected, it is quarantined.
If a potentially dangerous software is detected, Kaspersky Anti-Virus will
block its execution and save information about this program in the report;
The application scans e-mail messages:
Scanning incoming messages sent using POP3 protocol is enabled,
files in archives are scanned;
Scanning of outgoing mail sent using SMTP protocol is disabled.
The application scans macros written in VBA used by the Microsoft Office
suite; if a suspicious script is detected, Kaspersky Anti-Virus will block its
execution;
The application scans VBScript and JavaScript dynamic scripts
processed by Microsoft Internet Explorer or the Windows script
processing engine. If a suspicious script is detected, Kaspersky Anti-Virus
will block its execution.

ON-DEMAND ANTI-VIRUS SCAN
The recommended level of protection with the following settings is the default
level for full system scan:
scheduled full scan is performed every Friday at 20:00;
the scan scope includes:
iChecker™ and iStreams™ technologies are enabled;
objects on network disks; e-mail databases, and files in e-mail text
formats will not be scanned.
all files on hard disks, and boot sectors;
files in RAM, objects launched automatically during operating
system loading (startup objects), and alternate NTFS streams;
packed files, archives, self-extracting archives, and OLE
objects.
Full computer scan does not include mailboxes
