changing Main
blade
the Model g0451 will perform best when high
quality, sharp blades are used. therefore, when-
ever the main blade starts to get dull, we recom-
mend that you have it resharpened or replace it
with a new blade.
Also, the Model g0451 is designed to accom-
modate either a 12" or a 14" main blade. Any time
you change blade size, adjust the riving knife to
3mm away from the blade you install.
To change the main blade:
1.
disconnect the saw from the power
source!
2.
Move the blade tilt to 0˚ (blade 90˚ to table)
and raise the main blade as far as it will go.
3.
Move the sliding table all the way forward
to expose the internal blade guard that cov-
ers the blades and riving knife, as shown in
figure 58.

4.
pull the blade guard away from the blades
to expose the mounting assembly. (the
internal blade guard is held in place with a
magnet.)

5.
use the arbor wrench to remove the arbor
nut and arbor flange and pull the old blade
off the arbor.
note—The arbor nut has left hand threads
and loosens by turning clockwise.
6.
slide the new blade over the arbor with the
teeth facing the front of the saw as shown in
figure 59.

7.
re-install the arbor flange and the arbor nut
and tighten them against the blade as shown
in figure 59.
note—Wear gloves to protect your hands
when installing or removing blades.
— if you changed the diameter of the blade
during this procedure, adjust the riving
knife according to the instructions titled
Riving Knife Adjustment on page 38.
8.
Move the orange blade guard back into its
original position, next to the blades, and cen-
ter the sliding table.
