Some circuitry on the system board can continue operating even though the power is
switched off. Under no circumstances should the Lithium coin cell used to power the real-
time clock be allowed to be shorted. The coin cell can heat under these conditions and
present a burn hazard.
Warning: This guide is for technically qualified personnel who have experience
installing and configuring system boards. Disconnect the system board power
supply from its power source before you connect/disconnect cables or install/
remove any system board components. Failure to do this can result in personnel
injury or equipment damage.
Warning: Avoid short-circuiting the lithium battery; this can cause it to super-
heat and cause burns if touched.
Warning: Do not operate the processor without a thermal solution. Damage to
the processor can occur in seconds.

Important Information for Canadian Customers

The FaxPress USA complies with the Industry Canada rules. An Industry Canada label is
located on the analog fax board of the FaxPress unit, and the T1 board of the FaxPress
unit. The label on the analog fax board displays the Industry Canada Registration Number
IC:885 10497 A. The label on the T1 board displays the Industry Canada Registration
Number IC:885 7969 A.
The Canadian Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification
means that the board meets certain telecommunications network protective, operational
and safety requirements. Industry Canada does not guarantee the equipment will operate
to the user's satisfaction.
Before installing this equipment, make sure you are permitted to connect to the facilities
of the local telecommunications company. You must install the equipment using an
acceptable method of connection. In some cases, you may also extend the company's
inside wiring for single line individual service by means of a certified connector assembly
(telephone extension cord). You should be aware, however, that compliance with the
above conditions may not prevent degradation of service in some situations.
Repairs to certified equipment should be made by an authorized Canadian maintenance
facility designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alterations made by the user to this
equipment, or equipment malfunctions, may give the telecommunications company cause
to request the user to disconnect the equipment.
