Inbound Production Faxing and the DropFax Service

The FaxPress server's DropFax service creates and enables inbound fax directories for
specific users or specific lines. DropFax directories are configured for individual lines and
individual users.
DropFax directories for inbound faxes are especially useful for third party applications that
need to process all incoming faxes on a specific line, or all incoming faxes directed to a
specific user. For example, a pharmacy could route all prescription faxes from doctors to
the DropFax directory of a specific line or user, and the pharmacy's custom application
could process these prescriptions so they could be filled.
Setting Up the Inbound DropFax Service
After the DropFax service is configured, all faxes sent on a specified line or to a specified
user will be placed in the DropFax directory created for them. Third party applications can
then be configured to retrieve faxes from this DropFax directory.
To set up and start the inbound DropFax service, follow these steps:
1.
Log in as Administrator to FaxPress, and expand the FaxPress server's
Administration branch.Select the Embedded Services item in the
Administration branch. In the list frame on the right side of the window, right-click
on the DropFax service, and select Configuration.
