FaxPress and Ricoh GlobalScan 2.0 Integration
About the FaxPress and Ricoh GlobalScan Integration
Captaris FaxPress services for GlobalScan 2.0 enable Ricoh MFD customers to fax
documents directly from the console of a GlobalScan 2.0-compliant Ricoh device (see list
of supported devices below). The Ricoh GlobalScan 2.0 FaxPress Connector provides its
services using one of of these two methods:
Captaris Fax - administrator configures a shared account that any walk-up
MFD user can use to send faxes directly from a Ricoh MFD.
Captaris Authenticated Fax - users login with a username and password
before they send faxes directly from a Ricoh MFD.
Upon installation and configuration of the system, the administrator will decide on
Captaris Fax or Captaris Authenticated Fax. If the administrator chooses Captaris
Fax, a gateway account must be added using the FaxPress client and then configured as
a shared GlobalScan account using the service admin configuration interface.
The GlobalScan 2.0 Connector software is installed on a dedicated GlobalScan server that
is connected to the same network as an existing FaxPress server. The GlobalScan server
can be administered remotely from another workstation, but can also be accessed and
administered directly on the server, if needed.
Supported Ricoh MFD Devices
The following Ricoh GlobalScan 2.0 devices support the FaxPress Ricoh Connector. Please
check the Ricoh Web site for the latest information on compatible devices.

Phone Book Integration
The FaxPress Ricoh MFP Connector, once configured, automatically retrieves and uses the
same phonebooks configured on the FaxPress server. For information on setting up a
