Error Messages and Countermeasures

Cause
Individual or groups of judgment
outputs are short-circuited.
Insufficient received light amount
from workpiece. Distance mea-
surement error.
Saturated received light amount
from the workpiece. Distance
measurement error.
When [NORMAL], [PCB], and
[MIRROR] are set for the mea-
surement object, the number of
surfaces currently being mea-
sured is 2 or more.
Alternatively, when [GLASS] is set
for the measurement object, the
number of surfaces currently
being measured is 4 or more.
Cause
The Sensor Head is not con-
nected.
Bank data in the Sensor Control-
ler in error
Internal error
Cause
The measurement
result exceeds the
number of displayed
digits.
The sensor is standing
by for measurement.
Countermeasure
Cancel the load short-circuit.
For a workpiece with regular reflection
(glass)
• Check the angle at which the Sensor
Head is attached.
For a workpiece with diffuse reflection
• Set to High-Sensitivity mode.
• Set the gain setting to 2 or higher.
• Set to High-Speed mode.
• Set the gain setting to 1.
For a workpiece with regular reflection
(glass)
• Check the angle at which the Sensor
Head is attached.
For a workpiece with diffuse reflection
• Set to GLASS mode.
• Using SmartMonitor ZS, set the
measurement area to the surface
you want to measure.
Countermeasure
Connect the Sensor Head.
Hold the UP key down for 3 sec-
onds, and then hold the DOWN
key down for 3 seconds.
The sensor is turned ON again
and restored after the device is
initialized.
Turn the Controller ON again.
Countermeasure
Change the decimal point digit setting.

When hold is set, start sampling and apply the
hold value.
