Displaying Navigation Information

You can display navigation information in the form of a grid, text, or course deviation
display, including the cross track error display.
To change the display, press the DISPLAY key.

When you approach or reach your destination
The unit notifies you with an alarm and the GPS key's light flashes green and red
when you approach or reach your destination.
If you deviate from your course
The unit notifies you with an alarm and the course deviation indicator. The GPS
key's light flashes green and red if you deviate from your course. The indicator gives
you the information of the direction you are travelling in (track) versus the direction
to your destination (course) so that you can check if you are heading in the right
direction. This information is called "cross track error."
Check how far and which direction you deviate from your course with the indicator
(see table on the right).
About the alarms
During navigation, you can use the following alarms:
¢ Destination alarm: Notifies you when approaching or reaching your destination.
* Course deviation alarm: Notifies you when deviating from your course.
« Zone alarm: Notifies you when entering a particular zone you have specified. If
you want to use the zone alarm. specify the zone before you start navigation (see
"Specifying Zones" on page 53).
If you want to turn on/off the alarms or change the alarm settings. make the settings
before starting navigation. See "Setting the Alarms" on page 75.

Notes:
¢ The direction of the cross track error
display's arrow shows the direction of the
course correction to apply.
¢ When the position update rate is set to
Interval in the Position Setting menu, the
alarms may not function or the cross track
error may not be displayed.
