When you power on, the unit automatically acquires your current position. You can
store this position in memory.
Determining Your Current Position

To display your current position, press the POS key.
The unit enters POS mode, which lets you display your current position, including
latitude, longitude, and altitude.
You can display your current position in three ways: Grid, Text, and Course
deviation.
To change the display, press the DISPLAY key.
¢ Grid display: Displays a grid (when an iC memory
card storing map data is inserted, a map is
displayed instead). The current position is centered

Note:
Due to the GPS specifications, the accuracy
of track course and velocity is degraded if
your velocity is less than 5 km/h (3 mph or
2.7 knots). Therefore, to ensure safety, the
unit does not display track course and
velocity when your velocity is less than 5
km/h. The accuracy of altitude is also
degraded due to the GPS specifications.
Note:
Because the unit employs the equidistant
cylindrical projection, some deformation of
shape towards the poles can be seen in the
grid display. When the latitude is more than
70 degrees North or South, the grid display
is not used due to the considerable
deformation of shape.
