Adding Locales to the Layout
Once you have created a Layout tab (with or without a loaded image as the background), do the following to add locales
to the layout.
1
Use the Locale Rectangle Tool or Locale Freeform Tool to draw each of the locales being tracked by
the Nortel WLE2340.
2
The Locale tools have Properties controls used to assign colors and transparency to the drawn locale and
to associate the drawn locale with the locale of the same name on the server. (The association between the
drawing and the locale on the server enables the Dashboard to show the views of live device activity and
associations in the correct locale on the layout.)

You can use the Locale Rectangle Tool to draw and shade an area on the layout, that demarcates each physical locale
being tracked by the Nortel WLE2340:
1
Click Locale Rectangle Tool in the Tools Palette and move the mouse cursor to the position on the
layout, that corresponds to a corner of the physical locale.
2
Click the left mouse button and begin dragging the mouse toward the opposite corner of the locale. A
bounding box demarcates the locale, as you drag the mouse.
