Overview of the suitability of seats for attaching
i‑Size child restraint systems to the front
passenger seat
i‑Size is a standardised securing system for spe-
cially designed child restraint systems.
° The symbol indicates seats suitable for
attaching an i‑Size child restraint system in
accordance with UN R129 (
Child restraint systems that are permitted
in accordance with UN R44 as per the ISO-
FIX tables (
page 66) or UN R129 as per

the following i‑Size tables may be attached.

1 Move the front passenger
seat into a fully upright position
and set the seat cushion inclina-
tion so that it is as flat as possi-
ble.

2 The vehicle is equipped with
automatic front passenger air-
bag shutoff. The PASSENGER
AIR BAG OFF indicator lamp
must be lit.
Fitting an ISOFIX or i‑Size child restraint system
on the front passenger or rear seat
& WARNING Risk of injury or death if the
permissible gross mass of the child and
child restraint system together is excee-
ded.
Too much load may be placed on the ISOFIX
or i‑Size child restraint systems and the child
may not be restrained correctly in the event of
an accident, for example.
If the child and the child restraint system

together weigh more than 33 kg, only
use an ISOFIX or i‑Size child restraint
system with which the child is secured
with the vehicle seat belt.
Also secure the child restraint system

with the Top Tether belt, if available.
Always comply with the information about the
mass of the child restraint system:
